Soprano, Madeline Coffey, is from Floyds Knobs, Indiana and currently resides in New York City. She was most recently engaged as a soloist with the Oratorio Society of Virginia. 

 

Madeline will revisit the role of Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls in the summer of 2024 with Ohio Light Opera Company as a resident artist. In the 2023 season, Madeline joined the roster of Ader Emerging Artists at Charlottesville Opera for a second summer where she covered Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls and appeared as a soloist in numerous concerts. In 2022, Madeline sang Baroness Elsa von Schraeder in The Sound of Music  and covered Valencienne in The Merry Widow with Charlottesville Opera. She was also seen as Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance with Cedar Rapids Opera and as Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore with Indiana University Opera Theater. Additionally, Madeline was the first prize winner of the 2022 Indianapolis Matinee Musicale competition, a prize winner in the 2022 National Society of Arts and Letters competition, and was a finalist in the 2021 John Alexander vocal competition.

Pinafore), Valencienne (the Merry Widow), Elsa Schraeder (The Sound of Music), Miles (Turn of the Screw), Sandman (Hansel and Gretel), Helen Bailey (It’s a Wonderful Life), Nella (Gianni Schicchi),  Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady).

 

Madeline completed her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
